BSS, Dhaka :
Inward remittance witnessed a slight fall in May as the country received a total of US$1202.18 million, down by US$28.39 million from US$1230.57 million of April.
But the amount is US$114.99 million higher from the same month of the last year’s US$1087.19 million, according to Bangladesh Bank (BB).
Of the US$1202.18 million, the country received $371.13 million through State-Owned Commercial Banks (SCBs), $15.32 million through specialized banks, $801.61 million through private commercial banks and $14.11 million through foreign commercial banks.
The country received a total of $12,927.49 million as remittance during July- May period of the current fiscal year.
