Fifteen people died of Covid-19 in the country, raising the death toll from the disease to 7,981.
Besides, 619 more coronavirus cases reported in the past 24-hour period ending at 8:00am Friday, with the detection of less than 1,000 cases a day for the past 12 days in a row.
With the latest figure, the number of the country’s Covid-19 cases have reached 5,30,890, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.
In the period, 14,846 samples were tested across the country and 4.17 per cent of them were found COVID-19 positive.
