Counterfeit currency gangs active again in Khulna

Fake currency racketeers are active again in Khulna region. Counterfeit currency making materials were seized and some persons were arrested recently by the law enforcers from different places of Khulna city and district areas.
On February 14 , 2020, one Ishak Ali, 48, was arrested by Koyra police of Khulna district along with six fake notes . OC of Koyra Police Station Shafiqul Islam confirmeds this matter.
On February 20 , 2020, two persons were arrested from Khalishpur area by the police of Khalishpur police station. At that time, four thousand fake currency, three color printers, one laminating machine, one laptop, one digital plate of making money, six bottles of ink ( Refill ) and two bundles white colored tress papers were seized from the possessions of the arrestees.
On February 22, 2020, a person was arrested from Zero point area under Labonchara police station as 39 lakh fake currency was recovered after searching a bag of the arrestee while he was got down from a bus in a hurry.
Sheikh Abul Khayer, Officer- In -Charge ( OC ) of Labonchara police station said, one SM Mamun , 42, was searched suspecting him as criminal and about 39 lakh fake currency from a school bag kept in his possession and as such he was arrested by the police.
From his primarily confession it is learnt that Mamun, son of Motleb Ali, hailing from village Paikpara of Bagerhat district was going towards Dhaka , OC added.
Reliable sources said., more than one hundred fake currency traders have been conducting their brisk business in border districts including Satkhira and Jashore.
According to sources of Police and BGB., mentionable members of fake notes gangs conduct their business staying at Keranigonj of Dhaka., Putkhali and Benapole of Jashore and Bhomra area of Satkhira district.
Abdul Hamid, Sagir Ahmed, Jahangir Alam, Abul Kalam, Sayeedul Islam, Humayun Kabir, Akdur Rashid, Mamunur Rashid and Parvez Ahmed are in leading positions in respect of counterfeit currency business, sources added.
Shaikh Moniruzzaman Mithu, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police of KMP said, after quizzing police have gotten some more important information regarding the matter. He said adding that drive is going on against the gangs of counterfeit currency .
