A counter press conference was arranged at Chittagong Press club hall on Tuesday by the family members of late Anowar Kabir over the land disputes between two factional groups of pathantolly under Double mooring thana in city occurred on September 5 last.
Earlier on Sept 6 last, a press meet was told that family members of Anowar Kabir vandalized the dwelling house of Sufia Khatun and looted valuables from the house and hence a case of vandalism and looting was lodged with the concerned police station. Daughter of late Anowar Kabir Ruma Akhter read out the written statement before the newsmen. Among others, wife late Anowar Kabir Nurnahar Begum, daughter in-law Parveen kabir were present in it.
The press meet was told that the statement of press conference of September 6 last was totally motivated and fabricated and a false case has been lodged against the family members of Anowar Kabir. The press meet yesterday declined the allegations of the press meet of Sept 6 . Ruma Akhter in his written statement told that Sufia Khatun was a tenant of Anowar Kabir and tactfully took a receipt from the landlord after paying huge outstanding house rent with the advantage of illiterate Anowar Kabir.
Later, the family members of Sufia Khatun creates a Bionanama(advance sale deed) over the receipt and later a civil suit was filed before the Joint District judge of Chittagong by the family members of Sufia Khatun .
Later on july 7 last, the case was dismissed by the learned court , the press meet was told.
