Councillors, party leaders under surveillance in Chattogram

Following the Prime Minister’s directive, the campaign has also started in Chattogram after campaigning against casinos, gambling, drugs, tenders and illegal party activists in Dhaka.
Although there are no casinos in Chattogram, law enforcement and government intelligence agencies have started searching for gambling, drug, illicit wealth and godfathers of teenage gangs.Meanwhile, the RAB operation in Chattogram arrested the terrorist alleged Jubo League leader in Chawkbazar area and the godfather of Kishore gang Nur Mostafa Tinu and one of his associates and another so called Jubo League leader in Agrabad area, Md Khurshid Alam killed in ‘gunfight’
After the RAB operation, Juba League leaders, former Chhatra League leaders and influential people in various areas have covered up. Many have fled from their areas. Some of them are reported to have migrated abroad. However, the government’s special intelligence agencies have begun investigating the gambling, drug, tender, illegal wealth acquisition and teenage godfathers. Agencies also prepared list of these people. The list made by the intelligence agencies includes, Awami League, Jubo League, the present and former leader of the Chhatra League, eight councilors of Chattogram City Corporation, and an upazila chairman.
The list includes Deputy Finance Secretary of Jubo League Helal Akbar Chowdhury Babar, former Chhatra League leader Saiful Alam Limon, Esarul Haque Esrar Prakash Azrael of Chandgaon area, and former leader of the Polytechnic Chhatra League Mohiuddin, Nobel and Faridul.Central Jubo League leader Helal Akbar Chowdhury Babar is not in the country, Esarul Haque Prakash Azrael has fled from the area. Mohiuddin, the former leader of the Polytechnic Chhatra League, has not been found. Meanwhile, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), which is leading the campaign, has also begun making lists, RAB-4 Deputy commander Shafayet Jamil Fahim told .
