CoU team wins NASA space challenge

The forty-eight hours long “NASA Space Apps Challenge 2018” was held at Comilla University (CoU) with the collaboration of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) along with BASIS Student’s Forum at Independent University of Bangladesh. The event started from October 19th and ended on October 20th, 2018 simultaneously all over the world.
NASA Space Apps Challenge is a NASA incubator innovation program launched in 2012. It is one of the largest international annual Hack-a-Thon with a mission respectively for innovative solutions to problems affecting us at home and in space.
This year a total of 40 teams participated in the event. Earlier 2000 team from 9 region of Bangladesh applied for the challenge from where 40 teams were selected.
A grueling 48-hours of brainstorming and coding led the students to some novel solutions to difficult challenges.
Different universities and companies across the country took part in the prize-giving ceremony held on Saturday after a 48-hour-long Hack-a-Thon.
Team Photon, a team from CoU became champion at the competition at Cumilla region. The project of photon was “Research Assistant Robot”. The members of Team photon were Shanjit Mondol (Physics, CoU), Sajeda Sultana (CSE, CoU) and Jahidul Islam Rahat (CCN).
