In the country where there are irregularities, corruption must be prevented. It has to be more rigorous. ACC Commissioner (Investigation) AFM Aminul Islam made these remarks while addressing the chief guest at ACC’s mass hearing on Tuesday at Shaheed Munshi Fazlur Rahman Hall.
He said that our aim is to know the organization at the field level, how the office is doing, how the service providers are providing services. Many times the head of the organization does not even know what the irregularities are. Mass hearing marks the way of corruption. The commissioner said the citizens are the owners of this country. The ACC took effect in the 2007. The ACC sees two things. One is prevention, the other is remedial. We can ensure 73 percent penalty for every case we make. We want to take this rate in 100 percent.
Referring to various initiatives to create awareness among the students about corruption, he said, we have stored ‘Satata Store’ in 5 thousand schools, to teach values. Where there is no seller. Our children need to be good people. The goal is not to make money by torturing people. Additional Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram (Development) Md Nurul Alam Nizami presided over in the 137th Mass hearing held to speed up anti-corruption activities.
Rear Admiral Zulfiqar Aziz, Chairman of the port authority was present as a special guest.He said the container and cargo handling growth of the Chattogram port is 12/14 percent which is higher than GDP growth of the country. The Prime Minister directed that the activities of the port be continued for 24 hours. As part of the government’s implementation of digital Bangladesh, the port is working relentlessly to implement automation system in the port.
The chairman of the port authority said the productivity of the port has increased, reduced the cost of goods transportation. The Lloyds Register has moved 6 steps forward. This is the ISPS Compliance Port. However, the biggest challenge is to handle container handling growth. I want the support of stakeholders for this. ‘There is no alternative to mass hearing to create public awareness. Service recievers are often deprived. We will take action when we receive advice. The port is trying to handle the country’s foreign trade properly. The port authorities are committed to implement the government’s vision and delta plan. “
