Corruption hampers development: Farhad

State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain on Tuesday said that corruption hampers development of the country.
The state minister made the comment while addressing a fresher’s reception ceremony of Syed Narul Islam College in Mymensingh.  
Farhad said, “Bangladesh has been transformed turned into a role model of development in the world. This may be hindered by the corruption. So, everyone should be aware, so that the development is not hampered.” “The present government has taken a firm stand against corruption. All should work sincerely to make the country a corruption-free and a prosperous state” he added.
Towards students, the state minister said waste time in student life is likely to suffer future life. “So, making your future life beautiful, you have to work hard in student life,” he added.
The state minister urged the students to establish themselves as successful people and work for the welfare of the country and the people.
Syed Narul Islam College Principal Dr AKM Abdur Rafiq presided over the ceremony while Lawmaker Monira Sultana Moni, Mymensngh City Mayor Md Ekramul Haque Titu, Divisional Commissioner Khandaker Mustahidur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner Mizanur Rahman and District Parishad Chairman Prof Yusuf Khan Pathan, among others, spoke at the event.
Earlier, the state minister inaugurated E-Monitoring and Performance Revaluation System at Deputy Commissioner’s office in the district to evaluate performance of the officials.
He also spoke at a seminar titled “Contribution of Bangladesh Agricultural University in Achieving National Food Security.”
