Staff Reporter: Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said on Wednesday that coronavirus situation may affect Padma Bridge project if the situation does not improve within the next two months.
“At least 300 of the 980 employees from China are currently on leave, owing to the ongoing coronavirus situation,” said the minister while addressing a press briefing at his ministry in the capital.
He, however, said, the construction of the Padma Bridge will not be affected if this situation ended by the next two months. But any longer than that and there will be some impact.
He addressed the briefing after attending a meeting with the chief of different agencies at his ministry in this regard.
