Coronavirus: Cricketers, organisers extend helping hand

The Cricket Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) has decided to extend their helping hand to help fight the coronavirus pandemic.
In a press release sent on Wednesday, CWAB said it has formed a new committee comprising current and former star cricketers along with cricket organisers to raise fund to help those have found them in a big trouble in this situation.
Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hassan will lead the committee as the chief advisor while former Bangladesh captain Naimur Rahman as the main convener.
“We’ll try to extend this initiative to as many places as possible in the country. We’ve a strong base in more than 30 districts. We understand it’s a big challenge to overcome the current situation. But we believe it’s possible if we extend our helping hand to each other,” Debabrata Paul, member secretary of CWAB, told UNB on Wednesday.
At the same time, he urged interested people to contribute to this initiative. He said: “It’s a big challenge. We’ll try to help the people at the upazila level. So, I would like to request interested people to contribute to the initiative so that we can reach as many people as possible.”
