Coronavirus claims 43 more lives in 24hrs

Bangladesh confirmed 43 more Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours until early Tuesday. With this, the total number of fatalities reached 4,802 and the death rate stood at 1.41%, according to a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services.
In the last 24 hours, 1,724 people tested Covid-19 positive, bringing the infection tally to 341,056.The latest daily infection rate was 12.27% while the overall rate stood at 19.41%.
Of the deceased, 36 were men and seven were women. Twenty-seven of them were from Dhaka division, five from Khulna, four from Sylhet, three from Chattogram and two each from Rajshahi and Rangpur.
The total number of recovered patients has reached 2,45,594 including 2,439 new ones in the last 24 hours, and the recovery rate rose to 72.01%.
And 14,050 samples were tested in 94 labs across the country at that time. So far 1,756,746 samples have been tested.
Up to now, 3,744 men and 1,058 women have died from Covid-19 across the country.
Of the fatality victims, 2,339 were from Dhaka division, 1,008 from Chattogram, 406 from Khulna, 323 from Rajshahi, 228 from Rangpur, 216 from Sylhet, 180 from Barishal, and 102 from Mymensingh division.
The country is passing its 27th week of Covid-19 infection after the first cases were confirmed on March 8.
Besides, the deadly virus has killed 933,150 people globally and infected 29,466,633 so far, according to Worldometer data.
