The coronavirus infections in police force stood at 9,398 as of Tuesday, the highest number of such cases in a single profession.
A total of 34 police members died of COVID-19, the disease caused by novel coronavirus, said the sources in police headquarters.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has been hardest hit with 2,145 cops caught the highly contagious disease.
Some 5,491 cops made recovery from the disease, the sources added.
Bangladesh confirmed its first COVID-19 cases on March 8, and since then it has been seeing hike in the number of infections and deaths.
The country’s virus cases stood at 119,198 and fatalities 1,545.
