Staff Reporter: The High Court on Wednesday expected that the authorities concerned will ensure the supply of personal protective equipment (PPEs) for law enforcers and journalists as they are performing their duties amid the coronavirus outbreak.
The HC bench of Justice Md Ashraful Kamal and Justice Sardar Md Rashed Jahangir expressed their hope during hearing a writ petition filed by a Supreme Court lawyer seeking necessary order on this regard.
The bench of the judges disposed of the writ petition with the observation refusing to pass any order on the issue.
Deputy Attorney General Pratikar Chakma opposed the writ petition saying that the government is taking steps to ensure supply of PPEs. .
The Deputy Attorney General said that the government is taking steps to ensure supply of PPEs for the law enforcers.
The court said, the authorities concerned of the media outlets may take measures in this regard for their staff.
SC lawyer Advocate Md JR Khan Rabin filed the writ petition on Monday.
