Syed Shemul Parvez :
The corona vaccines are reportedly being sold in different hospitals of the capital.
Sources said, a gang of fraudsters are active in different hospitals including Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) and Mugda General Hospital.
Corona vaccine is free of cost in various hospitals to control the epidemic. In the beginning, there were various irregularities with the corona vaccine, but a fraud trap has been conspiring to pollute the environment.
According to sources, Moderna, Pfizer and Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccines are being sold for money, taking advantage of the helplessness of outbound people.
Sinopharm vaccine will be available only if three and a half thousand taka is paid. Tk five and a half thousand will buy Moderna or Pfizer vaccine too.
Not only that, if money is given to any member of this circle, the SMS for confirmation of vaccination also matches, sources added. The investigation has uncovered images of all the scams involving the corona vaccine.
A signboard written in bold letters on the gate of the vaccination center at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University’s Paribagh that no one will be vaccinated except an SMS. But many expatriates are not getting SMS on time even after registration.
Searching the reason for not getting SMS was to find the fraud cycle of selling vaccines. It is found that only money can ensure SMS and even can confirm the vaccine of Moderna, Pfizer and other vaccines as per demand.
To know the details of the gang, a media person talked to the vaccine seller through one of the traps of the fraudster.
“I want to go to Saudi Arabia,” a reporter said, calling the fraudster Imran on cell phone that Saudi Arabia is not objecting to the Sinopharm vaccine now. So how much will be the cost of Sinopharm? “I don’t understand Sinopharm,” said fraud Imran, a vaccine seller and SMS sender. If I manage a Modernor Pfizer vaccines, then you have to pay me money.
At that time he demanded three and a half thousand taka for the Sinopharm vaccine. He said that the SMS will be sent to the mobile as soon as the money is sent by bKash.
Later, when another buyer pretended to be a buyer, the fraudster said that the moderna vaccine at Bangabandhu Medical was over and it could be provided from Mugda Hospital.
Talking to the fraudster, it is easy to guess that the cycle of vaccine sales is active in many hospitals, not just one.
Victims however, demanded that the administration should take rapid action to arrest the vaccine seller cycle.
Earlier, Vijay Krishna Talukder, a village doctor who owns a clinic in city’s Dakshin Khan, has been sent to jail in a case of recovering 29 doses of Moderna Covid-19 vaccine and an empty box of 2,000 doses.
