Syed Shemul Parvez :
Vaccination is available if money is given at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital (ShSMC) in the capital. Allegation arise that many expatriates are getting Pfizer vaccine within a day for Tk. 1,500 to Tk. 2,500 only.
Besides, after a long time of vaccination registration, many people are not getting the vaccination SMS in time. As a result, some brokers are taking advantage of this opportunity to grab money. The sad thing has been seen at the Suhrawardy Hospital Vaccination Center.
According to sources, a high syndicate of some Ansar members and brokers of the hospital is working behind this misdeed of getting vaccinated in exchange of money.
The media team has been investigating the matter after hearing multiple complaints from expatriates
who came to ShSMC Hospital to get Pfizer vaccine.
Many vaccine seekers were seen waiting in front of the hospital. One of them, Mahmudul, said, he has been waiting for an SMS after paying taka 2,000. Just 30 minutes later, inoculation’s SMS came to Mahmudul’s phone.
Later, to entrap the syndicate, one of the member of the investigation team, tried to talk to an Ansar who was on duty in front of the hospital.
Although the member of Ansar did not want to be interviewed at first, he later said, if you pay Tk 2500, the inoculation message will come today.
Another member of Ansar Harris said, he is new comer here. A syndicate of senior Ansars is involved in vaccinating for money. Meanwhile, not only the Ansar, but many others are also involved with this, said a member of the broker clique.
Director of Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital Khalilur Rahman said that about 15 Ansars have already been transferred on account of such anarchy over vaccination. We must take initiatives against the fraudsters if any complaint is found again, he added.
Vaccination activities have resumed in seven hospitals in the capital city from Wednesday after the vaccination of Pfizer was stopped for some time due to supply related problem.
Vaccination against Coronavirus started in the country on February 7. AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna and Sinopharm are now being vaccinated.
