Corona infection has been on the rise in Sylhet since the beginning of this month. But the death march was quiet. But the situation is beginning to take a dangerous turn. The death toll has also started rising. Two people have died in the last 24 hours. And the infection rate has exceeded 10 percent!
The number of cases of corona virus is increasing in Sylhet division. At the same time the death toll is increasing. Two more people died in one day due to the epidemic Corona. At the same time, 6 people have been identified as infected. Of which 69 are from Sylhet. At the same time, 33 people have recovered with the treatment.
This information has been given in the report of the daily Corona sent from the Sylhet Divisional Health Department on Saturday, January 15.
According to the report signed by Divisional Director Himanshu Lal Roy, in the last 24 hours, six people were diagnosed with corona in four labs in Sylhet. Of these, 62 were diagnosed in Sylhet district and 9 in Habiganj at Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital. Including these 6 new patients, the number of corona patients in Sylhet division stands at 55,544. Of these, 34,342 people were affected in Sylhet district alone. Besides, 6,259 people in Sunamganj, 6,609 people in Habiganj and 6,234 people in Moulvibazar have been identified as infected with corona. In the last 24 hours, 33 people have recovered. 7 of them are residents of Sylhet. Besides, 25 people of Habiganj have recovered. With this, the number of recoveries stood at 50,106. Of these, 31,612 are from Sylhet district. Besides, 6,153 people have recovered in Sunamganj, 4,063 in Habiganj and 6,460 in Moulvibazar so far.
In the last 24 hours, 6 patients with corona have been admitted to different hospitals in Sylhet division. All of them have been admitted to different hospitals in Sylhet. Besides, so far 25 people are undergoing treatment in different hospitals of Sylhet division. Of these, 19 are in Sylhet district, 3 in Sunamganj, 1 in Habiganj and 2 more in Moulvibazar.
In the last 24 hours, two people have died in Corona in Sylhet division. They are residents of Sylhet district. So far, the death toll in Corona in Sylhet division has risen to 1,017. Of these, 991 are from Sylhet district, 65 from Sunamganj, 48 from Habiganj and 82 from Moulvibazar.
Minor girl dies
In a freak accident, a seven-year old girl allegedly choked to death after the rope of a swing got entangled around her neck in Sylhet on Thursday afternoon. Mayisha, daughter of school teacher Shahjahan Kabir of the district’s Fenchuganj upazila, was playing with her sister at a park near their house in Mogolpur village when her neck accidentally got entangled in the rope of the swing she was riding on.
Hearing the screams of Mayisha’s sister, their mother rushed to the park and took her to Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.Md Shafayet Hossain, officer-in-charge of Fenchuganj police station, said they were aware of the tragedy.
