According to sources, a total of 207 people have been infected with coronavirus in Sylhet division from August 15 to September 15. 4 people died.
Meanwhile, a total of 67 thousand 817 people have been infected with coronavirus in Sylhet division since the beginning. A total of 66 thousand 285 people have recovered. And 1 thousand 253 people died.
57 thousand children under corona vaccination
Sylhet City Corporation started giving corona vaccination to 5 to 11 year old children in Sylhet division. The vaccination programme for children has started on August 25 in the city.
Vaccination is given every day except public and weekend holidays. Already 56 thousand 959 children of the city have come under the vaccination campaign.
According to Sylhet City Corporation Health Department sources, 56 thousand 959 children of 291 schools of the city have been vaccinated from August 25 to September 15 (Thursday). Among them there are 27 thousand 767 boys and 29 thousand 192 girls.
SCC chief health officer Dr. Zahidul Islam said, we set a target of vaccinating 98 thousand 5 to 11-year-old children in Sylhet city. As of Thursday (September 15), we have managed to administer the first dose of the vaccine to around 57,000 children. We expect to be fairly close to the target by next week.
