Bangladesh Army will take on Victoria Sporting Club in the opening match of the day-long Corona Cup Rugby Tournament at the Paltan Ground, which is adjacent to the Bangabandhu National Stadium. Bangladesh Rugby Union will arrange the rugby competition.
The match begins today at 11.00 AM.
Secretary of National Sports Council Md Masud Karim will inaugurate the rugby competition as the chief guest.
A total of four teams will take part in the rugby meet. They are: Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Ansar, Victoria Sporting Club and Flame Boys Club.
The rugby competition will be held on single league basis.
Bangladesh Army will face Bangladesh Ansar in the concluding match of the rugby tournament.
The highest points taker team will clinch the title of the competition, while the second highest points achiever team will be the runners-up of the meet.
The participating teams will compete in the rugby competition maintaining government’s health protocol.
After the concluding match, President of Bangladesh Rugby Union Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, MP, will distribute the prizes among the winners as the chief guest.
