A postmortem report in Sylhet showed that 72 stab injury marks were found in the body of Rokeya Begum while 40 on Rokon’s body.
It also said that 15 injury marks were in the belly of Rokeya, 5 in the back, 11 in the thigh, three in each hand, four in the neck and 15 marks found in the neck of Rokon, 16 in two hands, three in the back, four in the chest and one in the throat.
The report was prepared by a medical team of Forensic Department of AG Osmani Medical College and Hospital, said investigating sources.
In the meantime, Rokeya’s five-year daughter claimed to the law enforcers that one Tania murdered her mother and brother, they said.
The Rokeya’s domestic help Tania allegedly went missing after the sensational murder from the house, the investigators said quoting locals.
Meanwhile, Rokeya’s family rented the ground floor of the house on April 1 last year and mentioned four names in the form. They are Rokeya Begum, 40, Rabiul Islam Rokon, 17, Zannatul Ferdouse Raisa, 5, and Lokon Mia, 34, said Salman Hossain, owner of the house.
Rokeya Begum’s younger brother Zakir Hossain said that he had no idea about Lokon. Shefali Begum, a neighbouring tenant of Rokeya Begum, said that she hard the sound of crying of the baby, but failed to realize that it was a murder incident.
Nazmul Islam, owner of Sharmin Store nearby the house, said that non-smoker Rokon bought Benson Cigarette from his store around 10:00pm on March 31.
Faruq Ahmed, husband of a sister of Rokeya, said that he talked with Rokeya over telephone about 4:00pm on Friday and she told that a problem was found in the house a few days ago, But she did not tell me the details about the problem in a trembling voice.
She sought shelter at my house considering the safety. I phoned to her around 8:00pm and found switch off at that time, he said.
He also said that she had no good relation with her husband Helal Ahmed.
Seeking anonymity, an investigator said, they have collected sample from the spot that referred to the entrance of youths into the house. They were smokers.
The killers also tried to kill Raisa, but left thinking her dead, he said.
We have collected the finger marks in the throat of Raisa and these have matched with the killers’ figures after arrest, he added.
He also claimed that a good number of expert youths took part in the killing mission.
Abdul Wahab Mia, Additional Commissioner (Media) of Sylhet Metropolitan Police, said that they had found over one hundred injury marks in the two bodies during the inquest report.
They will be clear about the murder after getting the post mortem report, the police official said.
We suspect that they were killed with sword by the skilled killers, he added.
Law enforcers are hunting for Lokon and Tania to investigate the incident, the DC said.
