UNB, Dhaka :Police on Tuesday foiled a demonstration of the students in the city demanding cancellation of the results and retaking the admission tests of MBBS and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) as they claimed that question papers of the tests were leaked.The students who failed to come out successful in the admission tests along with their guardians took position in front of the Central Shaheed Minar around 10am.Later, they moved towards Dhaka Medical College premises around 12:45pm apparently to disrupt the medical admission process as they heard the DMC authorities started the admission process in the morning.The striking students and their guardians took position in front of the DMC administration building.Tanvir Hasan, an admission seeker, said they laid siege to the college principal’s office and chanted slogans in favour of their demand.On information, police rushed in and charged baton on the students to disperse them, leaving at least eight of them injured. Later, the agitating students returned to the Central Shaheed Minar where they announced to observe sit-ins in front of Shaheed Minars across the country on Wednesday.They also announced ‘Cholo cholo, Dhaka cholo’ (Dhaka March) programme for Thursday.
