A pregnant wife named Josna Begum (30) was brutally murdered by her husband Md. Saddam Hossain (35), a police constable (No.1026) postimg at Tafalbari police outpost under Sharankhola Upazila in Bagerhat district at the night of Thursday. Later he beheaded the dead body, cut it into 4 pieces and put them into a gunny bag in order to conceal the same.
But he was arrested along with the same by the police of Sharankhola PS. In this connection Julekha Begum, mother of the deceased lodged a case with Sharankhola PS on Friday evening . Saddm Hossain is the son of one Abdul Latif Mia hails from the village Bardal under Ashashuni Upazila in Satkhira district.
Md. Sayeedur Rahman, Officer-in-charge of Sharankhola PS disclosed, Police constable Saddam Hossain joined Tafalbari police outpost about one year ago. Later he used to reside in a rented house, adjacent to the police outpost along with his 2nd wife Josna Begum. At the night a family quarrel took place between the two.
As a result, in the early hours when Josna Begum fell asleep Saddam Hossain strangulated her to death, brought out the baby from the womb after cutting her lower abdomen, chopped the dead body into 4 pieces, put them into a gunny bag and tried to conceal the same.
But his girl servant witnessed it and informed the police of the matter. At the same night the police of Sharankhola PS rushed to the spot and arrested him along with the packed dead body. The dead body was sent to Bagerhat morgue for its autopsy. The Officer-in-charge added, Saddam’s first wife is living at his village home in Satkhira. He married Josna Begum as his 2nd wife in the month of January of the current year and took her into his local residence.
