A police constable was killed in a road accident at Banglabazar in Barhatta upazila on Thursday night.
Police said, constable Shahinur Alam, 32, son of Sohrab Uddin of Mymensingh district, was going to Netrakona riding a motorcycle from his work station Fakirer Bazar Police Camp in the evening.
When he reached Banglabazar, a CNG-run auto-rickshaw knocked down the motorcycle
around 9:30 pm, leaving the police constable injured severely, said Superintendent of Police Joydev Chowdhury of Netrakona district.
Later, locals took him to Netrakona Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead, the SP added.
