A team of the Narcotics Control Department arrested a police constable along with 2,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from Adalot Para in the district town on Tuesday.
The arrested police constable was identified as M Abdul Mannan.
Sources at the Narcotics Control Department said acting on secrete information, some members of the department conducted a drive at Adalot Para and arrested Mannan. They searched Mannan’s body and found 400 pieces of Yaba tablets.
Later, based on his information, 1,600 more pieces of Yaba were recovered from the trunk of Mannan in his barrack. A case was filed with Brahamanbaria Sadar Police Station in connection with the incident.
