UNB, Benapole :
An assistant sub-inspector of the Benapole port police station fled with 13 seized gold bars, leaving an arrestee in the police station on Tuesday morning.
ASI Rafiqul Islam Rafiq, along with two other police members, had previously arrested Rezaul Karim from in front of the district’s Raghunathpur BGB camp along with those gold bars.
Later he brought Rezaul to the port police station, after which he got away with the gold bars leaving the arrestee there.
Officer-in-charge of the police station Opurbo Hasan confirmed the incident saying that a case was filed against Rafiq.
