A policeman named Rabbi Bhuiyan (28) was killed on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway check post on duty. Another colleague named Arafat Hossain was injured. The accident took place in front of Dohazari Highway Police Station around 11:15 am yesterday (Thursday) .The deceased was identified as Rabbi Bhuiyan, son of Mozammel Haque of Malitha Charsindu area under Palash police station in Narsingdi district. Both the dead and injured were working as constables at Dohazari Highway Police Station.
According to Dohazari Highway Police Station sources, the Highway Police set up a check post in front of the police station. A white microbus (Chittagong Metro-C-11-5225) heading to Chittagong from Cox’s Bazar slowed down after seeing the check post.
But when he came in front of the check post and drove away. He died on the spot after sustaining a head injury. Constable Md. Arafat Hossain was seriously injured when he was hit by a microbus. He is undergoing treatment at Dohazari Health Complex.
