A police constable died after falling from the 5th floor of a six-storey building in the city’s Mirpur police barrack on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Shariful Islam, 20, from Mymensingh, said Sub-Inspector (SI) Bachchu Mia, In-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Police Outpost.
Shariful Islam fell from the balcony unconsciously
around 8:30am, the police official said.
He was declared dead after he was brought to the hospital one and a half hour later, the SI said.
Shariful joined the department just three months ago as a constable, he said.
