A police constable on duty was assaulted physically by a BCL (Bangladesh Chatra League) leader in Rajair Fazil Madrsa HSC Examination center under Sharankhola Upazila in Bagerhat district on Thursday noon.
Police sources said, on the day when the HSC Examination was being held in Rajair center Humayun Kabir Talukdar alias Sabuj (22) son of one Abdul Kader Talukdar of Rayenda Bazar (Sharankhola Upazila headquarters) and a member of Bagerhat district unit of BCL appeared there and tried to enter the exam center without the permission of the concerned authorities. But a police constable named Azahar Ali (30) on duty opposed him. As a result, the so called BCL (Bangladesh Chatra League) leader became furious, introduced himself as a member of Bagerhat district Chatra League and assaulted him physically. After the incident when the police constable brought the matter to the notice of the police of Sharankhola PS a police squad rushed to the spot in order to arrest the Chatra League leader. But being informed of the matter the BCL leader went into hide.
On the other hand, when the local journalists contacted Md. Monir Hossain Monir, President of Bagerhat district unit of BCL told, if any member of Chatra League is involved in such an incident action must be taken against him as per the rules and regulations of the organization.
