Cop-Ansar clash at DMCH: 2 hurt

An Ansar and a police injured while they engaged in clash with each other to enter ICU of Dhaka Madical College Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday.
The ansar member was on duty in the entrance of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of DMCH. Both of them have been taken treatment in the emergency section of the hospital.
This incident happened in front of the ICU at 4pm today (Wednesday) at the 3rd floor of the emergency department. They are constables Mahbubul Alam (22), Mirpur police line and Ansar member Saiful Islam (24) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The injured policeman, Mahbub, said a police member named Rubel was admitted to the ward of the hospital’s ward no219 after felling sick.
Today (Wednesday) his surgery was completed. Then he was posted in the post operative ward next to the ICU. Mahbub was at his service as attendant.
Mahbub said that Ansar Saiful, was in charge of the gate of the ICU. He stopped Rubel in the afternoon, when he wanted to see Mahbub in the ICU he demanded Tk 50 for entering into the house.
Then there was confusion among them. After some time, Ansar members attacked him after buying some medicines for the doctor’s order and re-entering. At one stage, 4-5 Ansar members assaulted him, constables Mahbubul alleged.
Asked about this, Dr Abu Zahir, Assistant Director of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said, “We are also in the danger of the Ansar members.” I have heard the details of this, and the director will be in the hospital. “
