The Divisional Commissioner of Chittagong Abdul Mannan said Bangladesh government and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is giving shelters to the tortured Rohingya refugees on the ground of humanity. “So, we are taking care of Rohingya people who came here as refugee.”
Addressing the divisional Coordination Meeting on Rohingyas held on Wednesday, Mannan said Rohingays were rescued not arrested in Chittagong. “We are helping Rohingya refugees to save their lives.” The meeting was chaired by Divisional Commissioner of Chittagong Abdul Mannan. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Chittagong S M Moniruzzaman disclosed in the meeting that police recovered a total of 176 Rohingya people from different spots in Chittagong and sent them to Cox’s Bazar so far.
