3rd International Conference on Civil Engineers ends: Coordinated role of civil engrs in durable dev emphasised

The concluding session of 3rd International Conference on Advance in Civil Engineering as arranged by the Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET) held on Thursday at a posh beach hotel in the tourism hub of Cox’s Bazar with head of the Civil Engineering Deptt of CUET Prof. Md. Saiful Islam in the chair.
 Member secretary of the conference Tech & Scientific committee Prof. Dr.Asiful Hoque delivered the concluding speech duly moderated by Prof.Dr. Ayesha Akhtar . Vice chancellor of University of Asia Pacific Prof.Dr. Jamilur Reza chowdhury graced the concluding session of the 3rd International conference on Advance in Civil Engineering held on Thursday as Chief Guest duly attended by the vice chancellor of CUET Prof. Dr. Rafiqul Alam as special guest. The speakers in the concluding session of the conference emphasized the coordinated role of the civil engineers in durable development of the country.
 While inaugurating the conference on Wednesday last minister for Education Nurul Islam Nahid MP as chief guest of the confernece said we are going ahead towards modern and developed Bangladesh and govt is continued their efforts to sustain the qualititive standard of education and research.
He said through evolving the new knowledge and new technology, we want to export manpower abroad. He said in present world durable development is most important and challenging work. He also underscored the role of civil enginers for building durable Bangladesh through creating new devices.
Earlier report adds: The chief guest in his brief deliberations said under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister , the country will turn as middle income country by 2021 and as a developed country by 2041 .
 He also mentioned the implementation of the giant Padma bridge project which is being implemented by own fund with dieheart participation of the local engineers. Education Minister also emphasised the global issues like climate chang, power and engery crisis, population issue and urban development problems etc. In these fields, the role of the civil engineers is unlimited , he added.
Chairman of the University Grant commission Prof. Abdul Mannan, vice chancellor of CUET Prof. Rafiqul Alam and President of the Engineers Institution, Bangaldesh Engr. Md. Kabir Bhuyia graced the occasion as special guests in it.
CUET Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rafiqul Alam in his brief deliberations said this international conference on civil engineering created a bridge tie between the research and engineers. Prof.Dr. Dipankar chowdhury of Indian Institute of Technology,Bombay delivered welcome address in the inaugural session of the conference.
 Mentionable that the first and second conference of its kind was held in 2012 and 2014 , CUET public relations sources said. The conference was also highlighted with 3 keynote speech from India, Thailand and Bangladesh, 5 invited speech, 18 technical sessions, 5 paralell oral session. A total of 148 papers were presented in the total session of the conference, CUET sources said. Confidence cement and the KSRM Steels Ltd were the platinum and gold sponsor of the conference respectively, sources said.
