View exchange meet of newly appointed SPs: Cooperation sought to maintain law , order, spreading rumors

Newly joined superintendent of police (SP) Netrakona Akbar Ali Munshi sought whole-hearted co-operation of journalists to maintain law and order and keep the people free from all sorts of rumors or propagandas and confusion.
“Journalists have wider opportunities to help the police by upholding the truth and highlighting actual picture of the society in the media for keeping our society free from crime, terrorism and militancy”, the SP said adding that the news persons can play an important role to keep the people free from all sorts of rumors, propaganda and confusion .
The new SP said these while he was exchanging views with local journalists of different national dailies, news agencies and electronic media at his official conference room here today. Akbar Ali Munshi took over the charge as SP of the district on July 27.
Additional SPs of the district SM Asraful Alam, Shahjahan Mia, and Fakruzzaman Juwel and senior journalists Shamolendu Paul, Abdul Hannan Ranjan M Faqrul Haque, Haider Jahan Chowdhory and Habibur Rahman were ,among others, spoke at the views-exchanging meeting.
Narsingdi Correspondent adds: The newly joined SP Narsingdi Pralay Kumar Jourder BPM, BAR, PPM addressed a introductory meeting with local journalists at his Office Conference Room on Sunday night.
The journalists in the meeting informed the Police Super about the present law and order situation including abusing of narcotics, dacoit, snatching, eve -teasing g and early marriage in the six upazilas of district and traffic jam in the town.
They also underlined the importance of sincerity, honesty and good sevice of police which is vital for improvement the law and order situation in the district
The Police Super ensured the meeting that there will be no place of narcotics business and its abuse in Narsingdi district.
He also said that police determined to maintain law and order. The terrorism, militancy, anarchism will keep under control in the district by the drastic step of police administration.
About 50 journalists of different national dailies and news agencies,electronic media working in the district attended the meeting.
Among others former president of Narsingdi press club Abdur Rahman, former secretary Abdul Awal, former secretary Makon Das, journalist Abdul Hannan and Fazlul Hoque spoke in the meeting.
The meeting was present among others Additional Police Super (Administation) Md Jakir Hasan, Aditional police super Md. Sofiur Rahman (DSB), Aditional police super Md. Belal Hossain (Narsingdi Sadar), Aditional police super Sahed Ahamed (Circle Sadar), Oc Narsingdi Sadar Sayduzzaman and Oc DB Gulam Mostafa Miah.
SP sought cooperation from journalists to improve the law and order in the district He also said we should build resistance against terrorism, extortion and corruption.He stressed the need for media help to cooperate the police in nabbing criminals and in narcotics control.
