Chattogram Bureau :
Chittagong Customs House Commissioner Fakhrul Alam said the contribution of garment industry to national exports and employment is undeniable. In order to expedite the unloading and export of imported goods in the garment industry, importance should be given to the presentation of documents in accordance with the customs regulations.
The Custom House Chittagong will extend all possible cooperation to the export industry in order to continue the growth of exports through mutual discussion and cooperation.
The commissioner made the assurance while exchanging views with a delegation led by Syed Nazrul Islam, first vice-president of BGMEA, on Tuesday to resolve the existing complexities in the import-export activities of the garment industry.
BGMEA Vice President Rakibul Alam Chowdhury, Director AM Shafiul Karim (Khokon), M.P. BGMEA officials including Ahsanul Haque, former director and chairman of the Standing Committee on Customs Anjan Shekhar Das, former director Amjad Hossain Chowdhury, C&F Agents Association president AKM Akhtar Hossain, BGMEA member Rakib Al Nasser were present on the occasion.
