Contribution of women to social advancement lauded

The womenfolk have proved their ability, talent, expertise and efficiency in every field of national life laudably contributing to social advancement side by side accelerating nationaldevelopment. The observations came at a discussion arranged in a ceremony on Wednesday for according reception to five successful ‘Joyeeta’ women at the district level and four at the upazila level for their tremendous contributions to different social sectors.
The Department of Women Affairs (DWA) and district administration organised the event at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner under the ‘Joyeeta Onneshone Bangladesh’ programme.
Earlier, the ‘Joyeeta Onneshone Bangladesh’ programme was arranged in observance of the International Women Repression Prevention Fortnight- 2018 and Rokeya Day-2018 to search out the successful ‘Joyeeta’ women in the district.
Deputy Director (Local Government) Ruhul Amin Mian attended the ceremony and distributed crests and medals among the nine Joyeeta women as the chief guest with District Women Affairs Officer Kawser Pervin in the chair.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Syed Enamul Kabir, cultural activist Tauhidur Rahman Tutul, noted women activists and social workers Rosy Rahman and Advocate Zakia Sultana Choite were present as special guests.
Large number of successful women participated in the programme and finally nine of them were adjudged as the most successful to become ‘Joyeeta’ women of the year for extra ordinary contributions to their respective sectors in accelerating social advancement.
The district level five ‘Joyeeta’ women are: Shahida Khatun (economic self-reliance), Popy Rani Ghosh (education and employment), Abeda Banu (successful mother), Mahfuza Akhter (rebuilding life after suffering repression) and Rabeya Khaun (social development).
The upazila level four ‘Joyeeta’ women are: Ferdousi Begum (economic self-reliance), Anwara Bilkis (education and employment), Mahfuza Akhter (rebuilding life after suffering repression) and Monwara Begum (socialdevelopment).
All of these ‘Joyeeta’ women have established them as glittering stars in the society with their hard endevours overcoming hurdles to achieve success in different fields encouraging others to win over challenges in setting up glaring examples.
Later, the chief guest distributed crests, certificates and cash money among the best ‘Joyeeta’ women in the ceremony.
