The English Department of Jahangirnagar University (JU) on Saturday held a commemorative meeting on its former professor Dr. Zillur Rahman Siddiqui also former Vice-Chancellor of the university at department’s auditorium on the campus.
Presided over by chairman of the department Dr. Saniyat Satter, founder chairman of JU English department Professor Nurul Islam, former professor of JU Geography and Environment department Mesbah-us-Saleheen, Professor of Gana University Mahmud Shah Qureshee and Associate Professor of JU English department Masrur Shahid Hossain took part at the discussion session on Professor Zillur Rahman, among others.
The speakers here recalled Professor Zillur Rahman’s contribution to the field of education and research and said he (Zillur) will remain alive in the minds of people through his contribution to education, research and social welfare activities.
