Contractor appointed for Mongla-Khulna proposed rail line

Contractor was appointed by the Ministry of Railway for the construction of 86 -kilometer long proposed Mongla (Sea Port)-Khulna Rail line and the Railway Bridge over the river Rupsa.
 Out of them 64.75 kilometer rail lines will be the main lines and 21.11 kilometer lines will be the siding loops-yard lines. The rail line will be constructed at a cost Tk.3 thousand 801 cr. Out of the total cost Tk.2 thousand 371 cr. will be funded by the Government of India.
 The rest money will be paid by the Government of Bangladesh from its own fund. In this connection an agreement was signed between the construction farm Ircon International and Bangladesh Railway Department in a meeting held in the Railway Building in Dhaka on October 20 in the after noon.
The agreement was signed by Md. Azad Hossain, Railway DG on be hall of Bangladesh Railway Department and Jogesh Kumar Mitra, Manager of the construction farm M/S. Irkon International on be half of the farm. At that time Md. Mujibul Haq, Railway Minister, Firoj Salahuddin Shikdar, in-charge of the Secretary of the Railway Ministry and other high officials of Bangladesh Railway department and the construction farm were present there.
