With false declaration of iron, steel scraps, Orient Steel Re-rolling Mills imported accessories of vehicles .
These motor accessories were imported from Singapore with declaration of scrap materials in two containers. Suspecting the matter of false declaration at the time of releasing the consignments , customs officials detained the containers . Immediate after detained, these containers were opened and after physical inventory, huge spare parts of motor vehicles were found inside the containers.
After valuation of the contraband imported spare parts, the legal actions will be taken against the importer , sources said. Customs sources said the Dhaka based Orient Steel re-rolling mills imported 52000 Kgs scrap items from Singapore at a cost of 9,880 US dollars giving false declaration .
In the meantime, C&F agent of the importer Zian Enterprises submitted bill of lading for clearance of the consignments on April 26 last.
