‘USA Immigrant visa pending case holders community from Bangladesh’ urged the Prime Minister to take necessary steps to resume the interview procedures continue.
Leaders of the organization demanded it while addressing a press conference on Monday at Dhaka Reporters Unity.
Faizul Islam, spoke about the demands on behalf of the organization requesting Prime Minister to act mercifully to resume the interviews.
In a written speech, he said, parents, husband,
wives, brothers and sisters who are citizens of the USA have applied on immigrant visa category for thousands of persons living in Bangladesh.
Many of them were called for interview from the USA embassy in Dhaka on March last year after waiting 15-16 years.
After fixing date of interview, it was suspended due to the coronavirus lockdown last year.
The pending interview resumed this year after waiting for nine months.
But, the USA embassy suspended the programme again from April 5 due to the coronavirus restrictions.
The leaders from the organization requested the Prime Minister to act to help those people.
Khairul Islam, Saiful Islam, Sumaiya Islam, Rafiqul Islam Badal, Kamrul Islam Babu, Shoyeb Ahmed, Afjal Hossain, Jasim Uddin, Mahmudul Hasan and Mofazzal Hossain, were present, among others.
