Contempt rule against Pry Edn Secy, 3 others

The High Court (HC) on Tuesday issued a contempt of court rule upon the Secretary of Ministry of Primary Education, Director General of Directorate of Primary Education, Director (Policy and Operation) of Directorate of Primary Education and District Primary Education Officer of Munshiganj for not implementing its directives on recruitment of panel teachers as permanent assistant teachers in the government primary schools.
In the rule, the court asked them to explain in four weeks as to why they should not be prosecuted for committing contempt of court by failing to comply with the directives issued on September 17 in 2015.
The HC Bench of Justice Md Ashfaqul Islam and Justice Ashish Ranjan Das passed the order after hearing a contempt of court petition.
Advocate Siddique Ullah Mia took part in the hearing on behalf of the petitioners.
He told the reporters that the HC on September 17 in 2015 ordered to recruit panel teachers in the government primary schools. Earlier, they were finally selected for the registered non-government primary schools, within 60 days. But that have not happened till now.
That is why, 10 teachers of Munshiganj district filed a contempt of court petition against the four. After primary hearing, the HC issued a rule.
