A seminar on “Container Handling Safety’ was held at Chittagong Port Training Institute hall yesterday morning. The seminar jointly organized by Chittagong Port Authority and Marks Ltd aimed at increasing awareness on safety and safe work environment.
Business Development Director of Singapore APM Terminal Management Private Ltd Mr.Paul Galia and Chief captain of MCC Transport Singapore Pvt Ltd vessel operation Mr. Nevili Kirsao conducted the workshop safety management of container handling.
Chairman of Chittagong Port Authority Rear Admiral Nizamuddin Ahmed inaugurated the workshop as chief guest while the Managing Director of Marks Ltd Shamimul Hoque was the special guest in it. Members of CPA , head of departments and senior officials of CPA were present in the workshop. In the workshop , on behalf of Marks, safety gears(helmet, waist coat) handed over to port chairman by the Managing Director of Marks.
40 officials of CPA including berth operation, transportation, security, and mechanical deptt participated the workshop. he workshop was briefed about the incidents so are being held in container terminal across the world , sources said.
