One lighter vessel partially damaged with collision of a container vessel at chittagong port channel on Friday last . Port sources said container vessel MV Merytouch Five hits lighter vessel MV HizbuWahab in the channel while sailing towards outer berth of the port caused severe damage of the lighter .
Owner of the lighter vessel and Managing Director of Inland Maritime Shippers and Traders Ltd Md. Anis told that they will file a suit before the court for compensation of Tk.one crore .In this connection, lighter vessel owner lodged a complain for compensation of Tk. one crore to Chittagong Port Authority .
After survey of the lighter vessel CPA will take further decision in this matter, sources said. Five crews on board of the lighter vessel was rescued by the coast guard forces while sinking the vessel, sources said.
