The construction work of Shahjalal Fertilizer Factory at Fenchuganj is going on in full swing and the work is expected to be completed by June next.
M/S China National Compete Pant Import and Export Corporation Ltd has been implementing the project at a cost of Tk about five thousand and fifty crore with M/s Chanda Engineering Company Ltd .
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated Shahjalal Fertilizer Factory Project at Fenchuganj on March 24, 2012 and 38 -month time was fixed to complete the work of the project. To finish the work witin time frame several Chinese companies are working as subcontractors including saxing Petroliam chemical engineering and Construction Company Ltd , CNC Seven, CNC Eleven and China National Engineering and Heavy Machanised Corporation . Besides, 10/12 local companies are also working with foreign companies.
When this correspondent visited the project site a remarkable prograss was seen and within 25 months major works have been done . Some 162 acres of land have been acquired and process to acquire more land is under process.
The construction work of 70,400 metric tones capacity urea bulk storage is nearing completion . rail line installation work is under process . Local company Seven Power Associates is constructing this storage.
Out of important establishments work on administrative building , general store , main sub station building, ammonia sub-station building, central control building , lb technical building and maintenance building is progressing fast . Besides, compreser building, carbon removal, demi primary reformer , urea granulation plant , air compressing and nitrogen generation station , sulfer ammonia plant and ammonia tank contriction works are almost completed. When contracted Project Manager Mr Jang Win Bin said, we are working hard to complete the work by June next year.
Project Director Engineer Md Kamrizzaman said, the project work is about to complete and we are trying our best to finish the work in stipulated time.
