Barisal Metropolitan Police authourity suspended Constable Shafikur Rahman after arrested accused Shohel Rana managed to flee from Barisal Kotwali Police Station.
Asaduzzaman, Assistant Commissioner BMP, acknowledging the facts on Friday afternoon said drives to rearrest the fugitive going on.
Abu Taher, Sub Inspector , said Abdur Rashid and Sohel Rana, two were arrested from Rupatali area on Wednesday as suspected gang members of thieves of motorbikes.
Rashid gave confessional statement admitting his crime and Sohel remain at police station for further interrogation.
Due to over crowding at the police station Sohel was preserved in the reception room and on early Friday he managed to flee from there, sources added.
