A court of Dhaka has ordered to send police constable Hasan Ali and his wife Sathi Begum to jail in a case filed over the death of physically challenged autorickshaw driver Nazmul Islam in Rangpur.
The order was passed by Senior Judicial Magistrate Fazle Elahi Khan on Thursday evening.
Earlier, the investigating officer of the case, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Tajhat Police Station Ashraful Islam, prayed for a five-day remand to question the two accused and the court fixed for next Sunday hearing.
Court Inspector Nazmul Quader confirmed the matter.
On Wednesday night, Nazmul’s wife Shyamoli Begum filed a case against police constable Hasan Ali and his wife Sathi Begum.
Earlier, a police constable and his wife were arrested on charge of murdering a physically challenged rickshaw puller in Rangpur city.
