Convenor of 14-party alliance led by ruling party and former Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury said, any irregularities , corruptions and conspiracy c entering the Chittagong Port would not be tolerated.
He said this while addressing the meeting of the 14-party alliance at its city office on Monday as Chief Guest.
Mentionable that Mohiuddin Chowdhury is also the Convenor of Bandar Rakkha Parishad. The speakers in the meet expressed concern over the ongoing irregularities and the conspiracies of the vested quarters in the port activities. The meeting also protested misappropriation of port’s money through engaging a unskilled berth operator beyond the norms of the govt procurement policy.
The meeting also hailed the Anti- Corruption Commission for launching investigation on 11 sectors relating to port irregularities.
The speakers in the meeting sought intervention of the Prime Minster to r esolve the waterlogging problems of Chittagong, house rent problems, alleviated expressway and implementation of railway track expansion upto Cox’sBazar .
They also called upon the govt not to enhance the power and gas tariff for domestic use.
The leaders of the alliance condemned the threat of killing to city AL president Mohiuddin Chowdhury and demanded immediate arrest of the miscreants who threatened Mohiuddin Chowdhury with exemplary punishment .
Among others , General secretary of NAP ,Ctg unit Advocate Ali Ahmed Nazir, JSD General Secretary Jasimuddin Babul, district President of Workers Party Adv.
Abu Hanif, Asst. Coordinator of the Alliance Mitul Das and the leaders of the alliance parties spoke on the occasion.
