Conspiracy against BD won’t be allowed, envoy says in Pakistan

Bangladesh High Commissioner in Islamabad Tarik Ahsan has said the people of Bangladesh will not allow any evil design of conspirators to be executed in the name of religion to destroy the peace and harmony prevailing in Bangladesh society.
Talking about government’s zero tolerance policy at a discussion on Monday, the High Commissioner said people will not allow anybody to impede the progress of the country it achieved in social and economic arenas in recent years. Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad organised the discussion and exchange of views on ‘Recent attacks in Bangladesh: Government’s zero tolerance on terrorism’ at the Chancery, according to a message received here on Tuesday. Tarik Ahsan briefed the audience about the recent incidents of attacks at Gulshan and Sholakia in Bangladesh by terrorists.
He also highlighted the government’s zero tolerance policy to the terrorists and listed steps taken by the government in this regard. Later, an open discussion on the topic was held, where the speakers stressed the need for immediate wiping out of the militancy and terrorism from society in the interest of the national as well as regional peace. They said creation of greater public awareness against militancy, terrorism and communalism in all spheres of social life is now a need of time and that everybody should play his/her due role sincerely in this regard to bring a new narrative that would defeat the distorted interpretation of religion.
Officials of the High Commission, including Defence Adviser Brigadier General Mirza Ezazur Rahman , expatriate Bangladeshis and a number of Pakistani citizens attended the function.
