State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said conspiracies are on to spread the poison of communalism, by opposing the development of the country and programmes of the Birth Centenary of Bangabandhu and the golden jubilee of country’s independence.
The state minister said these while addressing as chief guest a drawing competition on ‘Bangabandhu and Independence’ organized on Friday by the Dhaka Sub-Editors Council marking the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of country’s independence at National Press Club auditorium.
Associate Professor of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Dhaka University Abdul Momen Milton, Managing Director of Pentagon International Antu Karim, Acting Secretary General of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Abdul Majid, Treasurer Dip Azad, General Secretary of Sub Editors Council Abul Hasan Hridoy, Sports and Cultural Affairs Secretary Tawfiq Apu, among others, addressed the function with its President Mamun Faraji in the chair.
Khalid Mahmud said conspiracies are going on at the time when Bangladesh is building the Padma Bridge on its own and many cannot see the success story, he added.
“We are building a nuclear power plant, we have a huge maritime boundary, building a deep sea port, constructing an elevated expressway, we have US$ 43 billion in reserves even during this Corona time, many can’t accept that, Khalid Mahmud said, adding the plotters are continuing their conspiracies.
Khalid said even during the Corona, many world leaders and heads of state are coming to Bangladesh, but there is also conspiracy about that too, he said.
“Conspiracies are on to hinder the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India. That is why the plotters have carried out the grisly communal attack in Sunamganj,” the state minister observed.
He urged the media to remain alert against such conspiracies.
