BGB-BSF border meeting in Tripura subroom: Consensus on mutual cooperation in curbing border crime

The BGB-BSF has agreed on mutual cooperation in curbing border crime and resolving any issues. The decision was taken at a meeting of sector commanders of the two countries’ border guards at a sub-room in South Tripura, India on Thursday. The 17-member BGB delegation was led by Colonel GHM Selim Hasan, Sector Commander of Guimara Sector. The 14-member BSF delegation was led by Shri Bhagwat Singh, Sector Commander, Udaipur Sector, Tripura. Among other BGB officers at the meeting, 23 BGB Battalion Commander Lt. Colonel ABM Zahidul Karim, 43 BGB Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Mohammad Anwarul Mazhar, 40 BGB Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Syed Salah Uddin Nayan were present.
The meeting started at 10:30 am and ended at 3:30 pm at Sabroom Sub-Division Panchayat Office Building. Earlier, the BGB delegation traveled to India via the Bangladesh-India Friendship Bridge on the Ramgarh-Sabroom border.
After the meeting, Col. GHM Selim Hasan, Sector Commander of Guimara, the head of the BGB delegation, returned to the country.
The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere. During the meeting, the two sides agreed to improve coordination between the two border guards to resolve all kinds of issues on the border, exchange information for taking swift and joint action against anti-state militants or terrorists, and cooperate in curbing all border crimes, including smuggling.
