A three-day long International Conference on “Skills for the Future World of Work and TVET for Global Competitiveness” will be held from July 27.
Institute of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) and Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) jointly will organize the conference with a view to building a skilled workforce and setting up Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) network.
IDEB General Secretary Md Shamsur Rahman said this at a press conference held in the IDEB auditorium on Saturday.
He said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina consented to inaugurate the conference as the chief guest.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid and Secretary General of Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) Dr Ramhari Lamichhane will be present as the special guests.
The representatives of CPSC member countries, Germany, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Norway, Australia, China, ILO ADB, World Bank, OIC and representatives of different international organisations will take part in the conference.
Technical Education Department, Bangladesh Technical Education Board, Skills and Training Enhancement Project, FBCCI and PKSF will attend the conference as the home participants.
Many papers will be presented in the conference such as “TVET Networking for World of Work & Reception of Foreign Guests,” Skills shortage and matching qualification with occupation to face global competitiveness,” Challenge and potentiality of TVET for prosperous world & Reception,” Socio-Economic Development through repositioning TVET,” “Peace & Security for Sustainable Development.”
