A day-long conference titled ‘Armed Forces Orientation’ for newsmen was held at Multipurpose Hall of the Dhaka Cantonment on Thursday.
Armed Forces Division (AFD) and Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) jointly organised the event for the newsmen aimed at minimising the gap between media and armed forces.
AFD Principal Staff Officer Lt General Md Mahfuzur Rahman addressed the programme as the chief guest.
In his speech, Mahfuzur Rahman highlighted the contributions of media towards protecting and developing the country.
Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) President Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul, Jatiya Press Club General Secretary Farida Yasmin and Daily Amader Orthoneeti Editor Naimul Islam Khan spoke in the conference, among others.
Lt General Abu Rubel M Shahabuddin, Wing Commander Tanvir Anwar and Colonel Ikram presented keynote papers in the conference highlighting the contributions of Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy and Bangladesh Air Force to the country’s development as well as progress.
Representatives from Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI),
National Security Intelligence (NSI), ISPR and different media attended the
conference.
