To commemorate the death of the Deputy Director( Admn) of Chattogram Maa-O-Shishu Hospital Dr Shafiul Alam Chowdhury, a condolence meeting was held at hospital auditorium recently with Acting President of the Executive committee of the hospital SM Morshed in the chair.
On behalf of the demise, elder son Dr Shad Md. Talha Chowdhury, also a medical officer of the hospital spoke on the occasion.
Among others, General Secretary Dr.Anjuman Ara Islam, Jt Secretary Dr Ariful Amin, Principal Dr ASM Mostaque Ahmed, Hospital Director Nurul Hoque, Deputy Director (admn) Dr.AKM Ashraful Karim spoke on the occasion. The speaker in the condolence meet said Dr.Shafiul Alam was a man of responsible, honest and dedicated .
Within the short period of time since his joining in the hospital, he conquered the hearts of the all officials irrespective of status , the speakers added.
Dr. Shafiul Alam hails from the Masjida village of Mirsarai upazila , son of late Nurul Hoque Chowdhury who expired at his city residence on July 15 last with cardiac arrest.
He was 60. He left behind two sons ,wife and a number of relatives to mourn his death. The participants in the condolence meet prayed for salvation of the departed soul and express sympathy to the members of the bereaved family.
Dr.Shafiul Alam retired from Govt Institute of Health & Technology as Deputy Director last year and later joined in Maa-o-Shishu Hospital, Chattogram as Dy Director (Admn), family sources said.
